Dr Michelle Bailey

Fertility Specialist

MBChB, Dip Obst, FRANZCOG, CREI

Michelle specialises in all aspects of fertility care. She has an interest in the effects of lifestyle factors on fertility, recurrent miscarriage, fertility preservation, egg donation/surrogacy and ovarian reserve. She has previously undertaken research on the effect of treatment of ovarian endometriosis on ovarian function, as measured by the AMH marker of ovarian reserve.

Michelle consults on infertility treatment, early pregnancy care and performs gynaecology/ early pregnancy ultrasound.

Michelle began working in fertility in 2007, as a Senior Registrar at the Christchurch Clinic. After completing her Obstetrics and Gynaecology Fellowship, she went on to undertake formal subspecialty training.in Reproductive Medicine In 2012 she graduated with the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility ‘CREI’.

Michelle graduated from the Otago Medical School in 1997, and undertook her Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in Christchurch, Dunedin, Hawkes Bay, and Australia. She had an interest in fertility medicine even as a medical student, undertaking a research project at the Christchurch clinic in 1997.

Michelle enjoys reading, cooking , walking and supporting Canterbury and New Zealand rugby. She and her partner have recently bought a vineyard on Banks Peninsula, where they live with their son.
