Dr Sarah Wakeman
Medical Director, Christchurch & Fertility Specialist
MBChB, FRANZCOG, CREI, Dip Obs, Dip Paed.
A leading fertility expert, Sarah has over 10 years experience, and is extremely knowledgeable and understanding.
In her role as Medical Director she introduces new international technology, mentors training fertility doctors, and oversees all clinical procedures at our Christchurch and Dunedin clinics. Sarah has specialised in all areas of fertility, with a CREI subspecialist qualification. She also has special interests in fertility preservation, genetics, recurrent miscarriage and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Sarah was first involved with our Christchurch clinic in 2001. She then commenced her subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in 2003. She spent 2 years working in Melbourne at the Royal Womens’ Hospital and Melbourne IVF, between 2008 and 2009 and completed her subspecialty training ‘CREI’ during this time. She has been back in Christchurch since 2011.
As well as
clinical work Sarah sits on ACART, the Advisory Committee to the Ministry of
Health on Assisted Reproductive Technology, and is an examiner for RANZCOG as
well.
